36th Annual CNS Conference - 2016 June 19-22

Presented at:
36th Annual CNS Conference
2016 June 19-22
Toronto, Canada
Session Title:
Plenary 2B: Public Engagement – How Can We Better Communicate the Risks and Benefits of Nuclear Tech

H. Kleb (Women in Nuclear Canada)

It is an exciting time in the nuclear industry and one that is ripe with opportunities for women and young people in the Skilled Trades and STEM subjects. As such, Women in Nuclear Canada (WiN) is working to make the public, especially women, aware of the many benefits of nuclear energy and radiation applications and the career opportunities that these technologies provide. WiN is leveraging the talent and expertise of its membership to engage a wider cross-section of women, including other women’s business, trade and industry groups. The more women WiN reaches, the better positioned it will be to fulfill its vision of providing people with the information necessary to make an informed decision about nuclear technologies.
