Abstract

Two-phase flow Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations were performed for the fluid flows in a 37-element CANDU channel and the results are presented in this paper. A wall boiling and partitioning model was used in conjunction with parallel processing capabilities. The sensitivity of the prescribed bubble diameter against the mesh sizes was studied and the heat transfer variation along the channel was examined using parameters such as subcooling temperature and void distribution.
