Abstract

Canada has been a global leader in civil nuclear power for more than half a century.  However the past decade has presented many challenges to Canada’s nuclear sector.  Today, many of these challenges have been addressed to the point where plans for the next decade or so are established, with the focus rightly shifted to delivery.  But what comes beyond the next decade?  The energy outlook in Canada and globally is evolving rapidly.  This presentation will explore the opportunities and challenges for Canada’s nuclear sector beyond current plans and offer some views on what the sector can be doing today to prepare.
