Abstract

This presentation will provide an overview of current and emerging issues affecting CANDU Owners Group (COG) members and the global nuclear industry. It will look at key initiatives underway to improve safety and security through COG research and projects. These efforts include collaborative strategies, R&D and joint projects to manage aging and obsolescence; costeffective solutions to improve and validate safety margin; cyber security and supply chain CFSI efforts; as well as innovation on human performance and safety culture in both the operator and supply chain environments. The domestic and international operators of CANDU reactors collaborate through COG on sharing information, executing Joint Projects and undertaking Research and Development to achieve excellence in the safe, reliable and cost effective operation of their nuclear power plants at all stages of reactor life.
