Abstract

The Component Operational Experience, Degradation and Ageing Programme (CODAP) is a project that’s purpose is to collect data and information on degradation and failure of piping systems from nuclear power plants around the world. There are currently 11 member countries, including Canada, that are involved with the project.  The projects database includes information on failure modes such as non-through wall and through wall defect leaks, ruptures and severance. This paper will go into further detail about the CODAP, the programs multiple uses and tools available, Canada’s contributions to the program, and the significance and value of the database.
