Abstract

Several heat-transfer correlations have been developed to predict heat transfer at SuperCritical Pressures (SCPs), which are based on the Dittus-Boelter-type correlation for forced convection as their basis. Three correlations have been found to accurately model experimental data of heat transfer along vertical bare tubes: Jackson (2002), Mokry et al. (2009), and Gupta et al. (2011).  These correlations have been compared against experimental data and the most accurate ones were used to generate heat-transfer-coefficient profiles at various operating conditions.
