Abstract

Advanced Dose Exposure Planning Tool (ADEPT) is Kinectrics’ innovative solution for helping nuclear station staff to effectively minimize worker dose during inspection and maintenance activities.  The PC based ADEPT software provides 3D virtual reality job simulations for radioactive environments around the CANDU reactor components, namely, the horizontal feeder cabinet, the vertical feeder cabinet and the reactor face.  ADEPT allows users to walk through a virtual job plan and receive a live dose estimate for the planned work.  The worker dose estimation is based on a predetermined radiation field around the reactor component and a user-defined job description.  Radiation fields are based on the Outage Activity Transport Monitoring (OATM) data.
