Abstract

Michael Binder, President of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), will provide an overview of the CNSC and the changing nature of its operating environment in the wake of the events atFukushimainJapan.  He will speak about the implications ofFukushima, the CNSC’s response, and the agenda of the organization moving forward particularly with respect to aging management.

President Binder will also discuss a number of CANDU® maintenance-related issues, including regulatory aspects, aging facilities, and the role of maintainers.
