This scholarship is designed to encourage undergraduate students to participate in research in Nuclear Science and Engineering during the summer months.

The value of the scholarship is $2,000.

The recipient(s) of the scholarship will be selected on the basis of their academic standing and other information to be supplied with the application as listed below.

Student Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program at a Canadian University for at least two years and be a member of the CNS (membership in the CNS is free for studentsin Canadian universities).

The scholarship is to be matched by a grant of at least $4,300 from the supervisor, for a total of at least $6,300.

Procedure for Application

Your application package (pdf preferred) should include:

• Your most recent university transcript (unoffial copy accepted).
• Your curriculum vitae (CV), including the extracurricular activities and achievements.
• A brief essay (max. 500 words), in which you explain your interest in Nuclear Science and Engineering.
• The name and email address of the faculty member who has agreed to supervise your research for at least 12 weeks during the summer.

You will receive a confirmation of receipt, and your prospective supervisor will receive a request for a letter of reference.

The Scholarship Committee of the Canadian Nuclear Society will collect and review the submissions and make the award decisions.

• May 5th, 2025: Payment

Expectations

If you recieve the scholarship, you are expected to deliver a report (1500 – 2000 words plus images) on the research performed, by October 1, 2025.
