It explores the origin and evolution of safety cases, and their significance in ensuring robust risk mitigation, setting operational constraints and limits, for nuclear sites. We highlight the importance of safety cases for not simply ensuring regulatory compliance, but also the highest standard of risk mitigation and being a truly live document rather than being hidden away in a draw.
