Ian McRae Award

PURPOSE OF THE AWARD:
To honour an individual for substantive contributions, other than scientific, to the advancement of nuclear energy in Canada.

AWARD DESCRIPTION:
The Ian McRae Award of Merit was established in 1976 by the Canadian Nuclear Association in honour of the late Ian F. McRae, the first President of the Canadian Nuclear Association and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Canadian General Electric Company Ltd. The award is in the form of a miniature sculpture.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The criteria applied in the selection process include, but are not limited to, the candidate’s contribution, largely domestically, to the general advancement of nuclear energy in Canada through such fields of activity as management, administration, public service, medicine, communication and the arts. The nomination letter should include an extensive review of the nominee’s professional background together with relevant information on past accomplishments. The nomination letter should be supplemented by letters of support from at least three individuals prominent in the industry.
