Super-Critical Water-cooled Reactor (SCWR) is one of six advanced nuclear reactor systems selected by GIF for joint R&D. Key technology areas in materials, chemistry, thermal-hydraulics, safety, neutronics and fuel development are being investigated by GIF participants and several IAEA member states. The International Symposium on SCWRs is aimed at providing a forum for discussion of advancements and issues, sharing information and technology transfer, and establishing future collaborations on research and developments for SCWRs between international research organizations. CNS is hosting the 9th International Symposium on SCWRs (ISSCWR-9) in cooperation with the Generation-IV International Forum and the International Atomic Energy Agency. ISSCWR-9 is of interest to those involved in SCWR core design, fuel design, materials, chemistry, corrosion, thermal-hydraulics, safety analyses and co-generation. The official language of the Symposium is English.
A Technical Visit of Canada’s Particle Accelerator Centre (TRIUMF) has been arranged on 2019 March 14. The Centre has provided support in materials and chemistry R&D. Further information on TRIUMF are available through their website http://www.triumf.ca.
Abstracts (<150 words) and full papers must be submitted via the submission link https://www.softconf.com/h/ISSCWR9/. Papers should include sufficient information for a clear presentation of the topic. Usually this can be achieved in 8-12 pages, including figures and tables. All papers will be published in a flash drive to be distributed at the symposium. The required format of submission is electronic (Word).
Selective papers will be invited to submit a full manuscript for publication in a special issue of the Journal of Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Science on SCWR technology.
